ABOUT ME

My name is Rachel Mapa

I’m a travel freelance makeup artist based in San Antonio, Texas. My passion for makeup began at a young age and by the time I was in middle school, I was already the go-to person for makeup among my family and friends. After high school, I pursued my interests in the medical field and earned a B.S. in Public Health in May 2020 from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a concentration in epidemiology and completed all of the pre-medical coursework.​

In May 2022, I made the bold decision to switch to makeup artistry full-time. Within a year, I had the opportunity to work on runway shows, music video shoot, and collaborate with models, designers, and photographers.​ In addition to my makeup career, I’m also a dental hygiene student at UT Health San Antonio. I plan to balance both careers after graduation, combining my passion for beauty with my commitment to public health.​

My background in public health and dental hygiene has instilled in me a strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of sanitation to ensure safe and hygienic makeup application. I prioritize my clients' health and well-being while delivering high-quality makeup services to help them look and feel like their best selves.
